The muzzle lasted approximately 2 hours and was ripped apart. No use whatsoever but GS equestrian refunded my money straight away.

I've tried different muzzles over the years and the JHL one is the best for my horse, it doesn't rub, it stays on and is a perfect fit.

I’ve been buying these for quite a few years now for my good doers. My pony is able to break them and has the ability to find places to hook them and rip them off, but they are not so expensive that they can’t be replaced. However, the only time she tries to get them off is when the grass is lower during the winter. Sometimes they have broken others not, but from a safety point, they will come off with force which is how they are designed. They are quite robust and have never rubbed any of my horses. They can eat well but not gorge. The grass must be long enough for them to do so(3 inches plus). Most horses will experience front tooth wear from using muzzles but my excellent horse dentist, who is also a vet, says that is ok and far better than laminitis. Both my horses wear the muzzle whilst turned out, enabling them to be turned out daily as normal, and not be stuck on either a dirt or tiny paddock, or shut in all day which is not natural and stressfull. That alone, can induce a laminitis episode in a prone horse. So a muzzle is a far better option and not unkind as some people think. My one dislike is a metal clip on the side. This is not a good idea near the face, and can be hooked on a fence by an expert evader like my pony. Another Velcro fastener would be far better JHL!! However, this brand is one of the best I’ve tried and used for years without any serious issues. Expect to renew every year or so if worn daily. I would also advise hose out immediately after use and dry thoroughly for hygiene. I also scrub mine thoroughly every couple of weeks, so you will possibly need a spare. ALL IN ALL, A GOOD BUY, NOT EXPENSIVE FOR A YEAR PLUS OF LONG DAILY USE.
